ASCO Group – Howe appointed Northern Australia GM
ASCO Group has appointed Jason Howe to the newly created position of General Manager Northern Australia.
Working for ASCO Australasia Howe, who brings a wealth of experience in marine and oilfield services to the position, will have a major role in the running of the new Darwin Marine Supply Base.
ASCO Australasia is a participant in an innovative public-private partnership with the Northern Territory Government in the creation of the Darwin Marine Supply Base and has a 20-year management contract to run the dedicated oil and gas port at East Arm Wharf.
Howe was most recently with Mermaid Marine Australia Ltd as the Supply Base Manager in Dampier, Western Australia. He has more than 12 years’ experience in supply base, HR and safety management, including more than six years with Mermaid Marine.
ASCO Australasia CEO Matt Thomas said the company is pleased to have someone of Howe’s experience to fill a key role in ASCO’s expansion into the Australasian region.
“Jason has a very strong background in supply base operations and management and is a perfect fit for the role in Darwin,” Matt Thomas said.
“ASCO has significant plans to expand its footprint across northern Australia and Jason will play an important role as those growth plans are rolled out.”

ASCO’s Australasian operations were established in 2009 and its primary locations in the region include Australia and Singapore. The company’s Australasia headquarters is in Perth, with operations in Darwin and Brisbane, where its specialist inventory and materials management business, Oniqua, is based.
