German rental company BKL Baukran Logistik has add its first Grove crane – a GMK6300L – to its fleet. Its first lift was at Bauma erecting a 62 metre high Potain MDT 248 tower crane in one day without needing to rig a jib. BKL has a fleet of more than 300 cranes including tower cranes.
“Grove has made considerable investments at its plant to improve every area of its operation – and the results are clear to see,” said Robert Popp, technical manager at BKL. “The GMK6300L is a unique machine that can perform lifts at a height of 80 metres, this saves us a lot of time, and our customer’s money, as we don’t need a jib, even if we lift a load of 12 tonnes at such a great height.”
The GMK6300L will be used on construction projects throughout Germany from BKL facilities in Frankfurt, Hannover and Munich.
