Skyjack raises the bar with its access solution machines at APEX Asia
Linamar Corporation’s Skyjack division will showcase a series of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) at booth G3-1 in Hall N1 during the first APEX show in Asia. APEX Asia, an offshoot of the popular European MEWPs show APEX, will be held from October 31 to November 3 at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Shanghai, China.
“Asia is one of the global markets with great potential for rental growth,” says Malcolm Early, vice president of marketing at Skyjack. “Access equipment is a key product for rental companies and we are excited to bring our lineup of MEWPs to demonstrate our simply reliable machinery portfolio into this market.”

During the four-day show, Skyjack will be exhibiting its “simply reliable” access equipment including the SJ30 ARJE electric articulating boom along with the SJIII 3219 and SJIII 4740 DC electric scissors.
Skyjack’s latest articulating boom, the SJ30 ARJE, features an 11 m (36.1 ft) maximum working height and maximum weight capacity of 227 kg (500 lbs). With an up-and-over clearance of 3.99 m (13.1 ft), the unit is 1.19 m (47 in) wide and weighs 6,605 kg (14,560 lbs). Two electric AC wheel motors optimize drive efficiency while also allowing for 35% gradeability — making it easy to navigate jobsites and to load and unload during transport.
With a 13.8 m (45.3 ft) maximum working height and a 227kg (500 lbs) maximum weight capacity, the SJIII 4740 is the tallest electric scissor lift in Skyjack’s range. Its steering system offers an impressive turning radius of 0.54 m (21 in) and single location emergency lowering. In addition to offering 25% gradeability, the SJIII 4740 is telematics ready and features automatic “smart” battery chargers with multivoltage while dual frequency capacity prevents overloading and prolongs battery life.
Finally, the SJIII 3219 narrow electric scissor lift features a working height of 7.62 m (25 ft) and a maximum weight capacity of 249 kg (550 lbs). Drivable at full height, the SJIII 3219 has a variable speed and front wheel hydraulic drive. Apart from its 25% gradeability, the lift offers 90° steering and zero inside turning radius, making it easy to navigate tight spaces.
“Asia is one of the global markets with great potential for rental growth and access equipment is a key product for rental companies. Our growth strategy encompasses emerging markets globally”, continues Early. “Our lineup is poised to assist the Asian market with their ever changing and developing infrastructure. We are pleased to be able to meet their requirements and adhere to our simply reliable service.”
