Mammoet has transported and lifted 30 modules for the P-76 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) platform in Brazil.
The project was executed for the Technip-Techint consortium at the Techint Offshore Unit in Pontal do Paraná.
The consortium, which was contracted by Petrobras to carry out the construction and integration of the oil and gas processing modules, contracted Mammoet for the integration part of the project, which included weighing, transporting and lifting the modules.
Mammoet utilised its PTC 200 DS crane for the installation works. The PTC 200 DS has a 250 m reach and a capacity of up to 5,000 tons (4,536 tonnes) as well as the ability to turn 360 degrees without the need for additional space.
According to Mammoet, the PTC 200 DS was essential for the installation, as the large and heavy modules needed to be installed with millimetre precision, with limited space available for the crane on the quayside.
Upon completion of the commissioning process, the platform will have the capacity to produce up to 150,000 barrels of oil and compress 7 million cu m of natural gas per day, operating in the Búzios III field.
