Because we love cranes, we honoured the invitation from LIEBHERR to participate, body and soul, at BAUMA 2016, which takes place în Munich, Germany. And well we did!
Those of you who have ever visited this outstanding exhibition know what we mean. If you haven’t decided yet, you still have two days, until April 17th! Or prepare for the next edition in 2019.
On Sunday the 10th, me and Dan, the guy who selects the best news for you, here on Cranesy, headed to the airport to fly directly to Munich from Bucharest, Romania. We waited with excitement landing and meeting with Tobias.
Everything was organized down to the smallest details and we thank those who have provided us, through their efforts, with the most beautiful experiences related to the world of cranes, so far.
When you arrive at BAUMA you will easily notice that LIEBHERR exhibition space is the greatest of all! This is one of the largest trade fair stands in the world, almost 14,000 m².
We’ve started our exploration, eager to do as many photos and find out as much information from specialists who were present to give us details.

New 8-axle crane: Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 with 85 metre telescopic boom on the road
Liebherr presented the new LTM 1450-8.1 with a maximum load capacity of 450 tonnes at the Bauma. The new crane features a very long yet powerful 85 metre telescopic boom. The new LTM 1450-8.1 can even perform crane jobs normally reserved for the 500-tonne class in many cases.
Liebherr LR 1500 crawler crane: successful prototype tests
The LR 1500 delivers the load capacities of the 500-tonne crawler crane class throughout its operating range whilst having the dimensions and component weights which have previously been normal in the 400-tonne class. It can be transported around the world without restrictions with a transport weight of just 45 tonnes. The overall concept of the new crane is designed for simplicity in all areas and great economy.
Liebherr LR 1100: High customer benefit through innovative design
The new Liebherr crawler crane, type LR 1100, is extremely easy to transport and, moreover, excels in extremely quick set-up. Another innovation is the patented boom foot manipulator making it easy for haulage contractors to move the crane.
Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane: already on sale around the world
Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 is the most powerful mobile crane on 5 axles on the market. It is the third crane model on which Liebherr has used its innovative single-engine concept. In addition to a multifunctional folding jib, a 50 m hydraulically adjustable fixed jib is also available. The Liebherr VarioBase® and ECOmode innovations mean that crane operators can use the new LTM 1250-5.1 with even more safety and economy.
New series: L1 hydraulic fast-erecting cranes
This is a new series of highly functional Liebherr cranes which delivers major benefits to building contractors due to its particular economy. The L1 hydraulic fast-erecting cranes combine power and compact dimensions with maximum safety.
