Family-owned Barneveld Crane Rental recently acquired its first Terex crane, a Challenger 3160 with a 55-tonne lifting capacity, which the company informs will be closely followed by the purchase of a second unit.
According to Henry Barneveld, who is in charge of jobsite planning for the Netherlands-based company: “Because of its 50 m long boom, we can even use our Challengers for maintenance on smaller scale wind turbines. Its compact size, lifting capabilities and long boom means we have access to jobs that were not possible before.
“Due to increasing road travel restrictions, its ability to travel within 12-tonne axle load limitations is another benefit that counts a lot for us,” he added.
