First Terex Demag-Branded AT Crane Headed to Mexico
Grúas y Soluciones Logísticas Salas, S.A. de C.V. (GSL) made history by purchasing the first Terex Demag-branded AC 220-5 all-terrain crane headed for the Americas. The Demag AC 220-5 is destined for Mexico, where GSL will put the crane to work for its customers navigating the busy streets in and around Mexico City.
With a compact frame measuring only 47.6 ft. long and 9.8 ft. wide, the five-axle, 245-ton capacity class Demag AC 220-5 all-terrain features all-axle steering, independent rear-axle steering, and dynamic launch control for positioning the crane into confined spaces. Even when carrying up to a 1,323-lb. payload, the Demag AC 220-5 crane stays under a 13.2-ton-per-axle weight limit.
What sets this new Demag crane apart is a main boom length of 78 255.9 ft., the longest reach of any five-axle crane on the market, according to the manufacturer. Additionally, with a variety of boom extensions available, the AC 220-5 crane’s full system length reaches 324.8 ft.
Scheduled delivery of GSL’s new Demag AC 220-5 is set for June, and it will be the first new Demag crane model operating in North America.
