Mick Volendam Groep, a family-owned crane rental company based in Volendam, close to Amsterdam in The Netherlands, completed the swift and precise installation of a prefab housing extension in Alkmaar. The company transported the prefab unit to site and used its Grove GMK4100L-2 for the lifting, ensuring the homeowner’s new living space was installed in a single day.
On the jobsite in Alkmaar, the 5.3 t prefab home extension had to be lifted over the existing house for final installation. Skilled crane operator Johan Jonk configured the GMK4100L-2 with 9.2 t of counterweight and 45.8 m of boom to complete the lift at 18 m radius. The crane’s on-board CCS (Crane Control System), combined with the operator’s experience, ensured the job was completed quickly and smoothly, with no disruption to local residents.
“The Grove GMK4100L-2 was the ideal choice for this project because it combines the reach we needed with a compact footprint to fit the narrow residential streets,” said Martin Tol, project leader and co-owner at Mick Volendam Group. “Completing the entire transport and installation in a single day required absolute reliability and precision, and the crane performed perfectly, allowing us to complete the project for the homeowner with minimal impact on the neighbors.”
