Liebherr mobile crane plays leading role at the Semper Opera House
A Liebherr LTM 1100-5.2 mobile crane from Krandienst Kunze was involved in the Semper Opera Ball. The crane held a ball fitted with mirrors which acted as a focal point in the light show and firework display.
This year’s Semper Opera Ball was held on 7 February with the slogan “Dresden Glitters”. The Opera Ball opened with a light show and firework display in front of the world famous Opera House. The LTM 1100-5.2 from Krandienst Kunze hoisted a mirror ball for these events which enriched the light show with an additional fantastic effect. The use of a 100-tonne crane was necessary since the ball was held at an outreach of around 50 m.
One of the special features of the Semper Opera Ball is the fact that the event is broadcast live in the square in front of the Opera House from where thousands of visitors can follow the programme. At the same time live pictures of the show in the square were also broadcast in the Opera House. The visitors enjoyed an evening of classical music and ballet of the very highest quality.
This was the sixth time that “Krandienst Kunze e. K.” had been involved in events staged by the Semper Opera House. The crane services contractor based in Radeberg near Dresden has been providing a complete range of services for hoisting work in the Saxony area since it opened for business in 2005. Owner Dirk Kunze and his 14 employees are complete fans of Liebherr with all eight machines in its fleet with lifting capacities of up to 150 tonnes being Liebherr cranes.
