Manitowoc delivers awards at Brazil’s Top Crane 2014
Representatives from the lifting and heavy hauling industry met in October in São Paulo, Brazil, for Crane Brasil magazine’s Top Crane 2014 event. Considered the “Oscars” of the crane industry in the country, the 5th annual event gave awards to rental companies in nine different categories, including “Innovation” and “Rigging Planning.”
Rodrigo Marinho, national sales manager for Manitowoc in Brazil, delivered the prize for best “Full Fleet” to crane rental specialist Guindastes Tatuapé. The award honors fleets in the 100 – 200 crane range. Edson Garzon Rodrigues, president of the company, received the award.
The second prize given by Manitowoc was for “Sustainability,” awarded to Makro Engenharia, one of Brazil’s largest crane rental companies. Livia Forte, Manitowoc Crane Care’s account manager in the region, delivered the orizuru, an award in the form of a paper crane, to Makro’s president, Fernando Rodrigues Filho.
“All the crane rental companies represented here today have proven to be outstanding service providers that Brazil and Latin America are proud to have,” Marinho said.
The occasion also included the Heavy Duty 2014 Awards, which praises companies that excel in the heavy hauling transportation segment.
“In a year when the economy lost the vigor of a recent period, industry professionals, and especially leading companies, demonstrated the vitality of this market with investments in technology, staff training, and above all, lots of creativity,” said Wilson Bigarelli, publisher of Crane Brazil magazine.
The full list of winners of Top Crane2014 were: Guindastes Centro Oeste (Standard Fleet); Guindastes Tatuapé (Full Fleet, Safety and Training); Makro Engenharia (Advanced Fleet, Rigging Plan and Sustainability); Locar (Operational Structure); IPS Rigging Engineering (Innovation) and Saraiva (Integration).
