Russian construction industry to benefit from sporting events
The Russian construction industry is expected to benefit from the considerable demand for infrastructure on the back of the prime sporting events that the country is slated to host before 2018.
Russia will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, the 2014 Winter Olympic Games and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The events call for development of roads and energy and communication infrastructure in addition to sporting infrastructure. The infrastructure construction segment, therefore, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 14.63% to 2016.
The overall construction industry, with help from the housing and industrial sectors, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.13%.
