It is the all-rounder among the all-terrain giants. Thanks to its flexible range of uses crane operators working in the 120 to 200 ton class can always rely on the ATF 180G-5. FTO Fertigteilwerk Obermain GmbH has also chosen the five-axle crane and now owns its second TADANO brand crane. “Seven years ago we chose a TADANO crane, the ATF 110G-5. The crane’s performance is tremendous and we have never had any problems with the service”, FTO Managing Director Detlef Dressel substantiates their choice. The new five-axle crane had its first job immediately after delivery.

The ATF 180G-5 has a 13.2 m long boom extension in the standard scope of supply and can therefore reach a length of 73.2 m in total. With an axle load of 12 t it is equally suitable for a whole range of different uses. Be it with 0 t counterweight, a truck load counterweight or full counterweight, the crane impresses with superb load capacities. “Compared to other cranes in the 180 ton class the model from TADANO is the best for us”, says Dressel.

From delivery straight to its first job in Hersbruck
Immediately after the crane driver’s two-day training the 180 ton crane travelled to Hersbruck for its first job. A new production hall for storage and office space was to be built there within 14 days for the company Lindner Verpackungen. The crane equipped with a full counterweight of 50 t carried out its work reliably, including a girder weighing up to 18 t. The 5.4 m long heavy duty jib was used to rotate the precast concrete components into the desired position.

“The TADANO Lift Adjuster assists me superbly with the unloading of concrete components. Thanks to this safety device I can concentrate fully on the load and don’t have to constantly keep an eye on the radius display”, reports the crane driver from FTO. The Lift Adjuster can be activated by the crane driver and prevents the load from swinging out during lifting. Both the Lift Adjuster and extremely sensitive crane control ensure greater safety for the load being lifted and the people standing around.
