Two Grove GMK5150XL cranes power offshore platform construction in Azerbaijan

2 min read
  • Two Grove GMK5150XL all-terrain cranes are supporting critical lifting operations on Azerbaijan’s AZFEN gas platform.
  • The advanced lifting performance and class-leading boom length of the GMK5150XL cranes enable precise, high-reach work in space-constrained sites.

HAREKET, a leading name in heavy lifting and transportation across three continents, has strengthened its fleet in the Caspian region with the purchase of two Grove GMK5150XL all-terrain cranes. The cranes were fast-tracked to Azerbaijan to spearhead lifting operations for the construction of a new offshore gas platform being built by AZFEN, for the region’s rapidly expanding energy sector.

The cranes were sold through KARUN, Manitowoc’s long-standing dealer for the region, which also provides full customer support including parts, service, and training. HAREKET purchased the GMK5150XL cranes for their manufacturing quality and class-leading reach. On the AZFEN jobsite, the cranes are performing heavy-duty lifts with great precision.

“We chose the Grove cranes for their high quality and will use them on a variety of projects after the construction of the offshore platform. The uninterrupted and safe progress of our clients’ projects is our highest priority; therefore, we chose Grove cranes for their durability and long service life. Choosing the GMK5150XL ensures we can meet demanding project timelines without compromise,” said Samet Gürsu, general manager, HAREKET.
