  • Welsh crane rental company adds a 300 t capacity GMK6300L-1 and a 250 t capacity GMK5250XL-1, boosting its ability to support a wide range of complex lifting projects across the UK.
  • Strong previous experience with Manitowoc aftersales support influenced the decision to expand the fleet with additional Grove cranes.

Davies Crane Hire, based in Carmarthen, Wales, has expanded its fleet with two high-capacity Grove all-terrain cranes: a 300 t GMK6300L-1 and a 250 t GMK5250XL-1. Selected for their exceptional lifting power and extended reach, the new units strengthen the company’s Heavy Cranes Division and boost its ability to support complex lifting projects across the UK.

Both cranes have completed their first projects: the GMK5250XL-1 assisted with the dismantling of a harbor crane, while the GMK6300L-1 supported machinery movement in a factory.

“These Grove cranes are a strategic investment to enhance our fleet’s capability and performance. They are among the strongest and longest reaching in their class and will be crucial in helping us meet growing demand for this type of equipment across the UK,” said Neil Davies, managing director at Davies Crane Hire. “We also place significant importance on aftersales support, and our experience with the Manitowoc team over the years has been excellent — consistently responsive, punctual and highly knowledgeable.”
