W.O. Grubb takes first trio of Grove GMK5150Ls in North America at CONEXPO 2017
CONEXPO 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, is off to a quick start, with several high-profile crane purchases being celebrated at the Manitowoc Cranes booth. W.O. Grubb has purchased the first three Grove GMK5150L all-terrains cranes in North America. The Richmond, Virginia-based company already has an impressive Grove lineup in its fleet, and this purchase will further enhance its lifting capabilities.
The company celebrated the purchase during a handover ceremony at the Manitowoc Cranes booth, directly next to the first GMK5150L unit go to the region. The crane was also adorned with the W.O. Grubb logo for the event. Manitowoc presented the company with a commemorative plaque and a customized, hand-painted hard hat for the occasion, one of only 12 ever produced.
The GMK5150L, which debuted at bauma 2016, is one of Grove’s newest models. With a load capacity of 150 t (175 USt) and a 60 m (197 ft) boom, it is one of the most powerful and versatile five-axle cranes in its class. It’s extremely versatile, featuring a compact footprint and outstanding fuel efficiency.
W.O. Grubb has been in business since 1962 and has one of the largest fleets in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
