Russian logistics provider JSC Transafe chartered a Volga-Dnepr Airlines AN-124-100 freighter to deliver a 95-tonne oil refinery compressor from Vladivostok to Krasnoyarsk.
The compressor was loaded onboard the giant freighter aircraft in Vladivostok. In order to safely distribute the weight of the unit across the AN-124’s cargo hold, special loading equipment was utilised that weighed 16 tonnes.
The freighter touched down at Emelvanovo airport in Krasnoyarsk on the same day that local citizens had organised a festival at the airport in honour of Russian aviation.
The out-of-gauge compressor was offloaded using three mobile cranes. It was then transported to the Achinsky Oil Refinery, the biggest refinery in the Krasnoyarsk region.
