Mercóvil, a recent addition to Link-Belt’s growing distributor lineup, recently hosted Link-Belt’s first Latin American regional parts training session. Held in Medellin, Colombia, a total of 16 attendees including representatives from distributor Suninca of Venezuela completed the four day training session. The focus of training was on Link-Belt’s dealer and Preferred customer’s site, as well as machine nomenclature, terminology and complete machine product line review.
Mercóvil was founded in 1954 and is dedicated to customer service, support and training. These three elements have allowed Mercóvil to gain a dominant market presence in the Colombian construction equipment industry. In November 2012 Mercóvil completed the first phase of a new facility near Medelin, Colombia located in Guarne. The new facility features several state of the art service bays, wash bays, a large parts warehouse, office space and a dedicated facility for employee and customer training. Mercóvil has 120 employees located at five branch locations throughout Colombia, including Medellin, Bogota, Barranquilla, Cali and Yopal.
