Czech it out, says Terex
Ostrava-based Malina Crane Hire has taken delivery of the first Terex Explorer 5800 all terrain crane in the Czech Republic.
The crane, which incorporates a five-axle, all wheel steer carrier that is 13.2 m long and 3 m wide with a 70 m five-section boom, was sold to Malina via ISOS Trade, the Terex Cranes distributor in the Czech Republic.
Owner and president of Malina, Radek Malina, commented on the purchase of the Terex Explorer 5800: “Besides being the most compact crane in its category, it has the longest boom. This does not only represent an advantage for us, but also for our customers as for some cases they only need to get a smaller machine doing the work of a bigger one.”
The Explorer 5800 uses a one engine concept, reducing cost of ownership and maintenance complexity versus having two Stage IV/Tier 4 final engines, said Terex.
“With how far engine technology has come, the advantages of having one engine are evident, and it’s a matter of time until it gets widely implemented throughout the industry,” said Malina.
