Pelloby supplies power slewing jib crane to Yarmouth Harbour
Pelloby recently undertook a project to design, manufacture and install a 360deg power slewing jib crane with a 5t (11200kg) safe working load at Yarmouth Harbour on the Isle of Wight, UK.
As a vital tool for a busy dock, this crane provides dockside access for the various boats using the harbour on a daily basis. Thanks to its 360deg rotation and 7m (23ft) height, the crane can be used for loading and unloading goods and equipment or for lifting vessels out of the water for maintenance purposes.
To ensure its longevity when operating in the strenuous environmental conditions of a marine application, Pelloby used a galvanised and epoxy paint finish. This protected the system against the effects of rust and wear caused by seawater, wind and rain.
Pelloby was able to produce a fast and accurate quotation for this rotating jib crane, while tailoring every aspect of it – from the power slewing operating system to the choice of paint colour – precisely to the clients’ requirements. It was also able to provide detailed renderings and drawings of how the finished system would look during the quotation and design phases.
Pelloby oversaw all stages of the project, from manufacturing the various parts of the system at its production plant in Telford and delivering the crane to Yarmouth Harbour via a trusted logistics partner, through to installation and final commissioning to guarantee its safety and suitability for use.
